Why is everyone saying Obama should give tax cuts to Small Businesses?
When he Already HAS??????
http://hireact.org/
President Obama signed the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) Act on March 18, 2010.
The new tax incentives for businesses to hire unemployed workers:
■payroll tax exemption of the employers share of Social Security taxes on wages paid to these workers after March 18, 2010.
■employer tax credit of up to ,000 per worker
The new employees must meet these criteria in order to qualify for the business tax credits.
■hired between Feb 3, 2010 & Jan 1, 2011
■newly-hired employee was unemployed during the 60 days prior to starting work, or worked fewer than 40 hours for someone else during the 60 day period
Another item of interest in this federal jobs bill is to permit small business owners to write off equipment investments of up to 0,000 this year, instead of taking years to depreciate. This in a doubling of the previous amount of 5,000. This will provide tax incentives for small businesses to grow while stimulating the economy with their investment spend.
President Obama’s job creation bill also includes provisions for putting people to work by reforming municipal bonds. Build America Bonds will allow the money to be spent on construction & repair of public projects like schools, highway and transit programs, as well as green and clean energy conservation projects like wind turbines and solar energy devices. Some of this money comes from moving billion into the highway trust fund.

Are Republicans sick to their stomachs over the improving economy?
Obama’s been in office for about 17 months now. You’ll recall that the stock market was crashing at that time. It bottomed out at something like 6600 and now it’s up over 10,000 again which makes for an over 50% increase in less than a year and a half.
The auto industry was in shambles when Obama took over too. The bail outs and the bankruptcies were very controversial at the time, but now we see that Chrysler and GM are clearly making a comeback. GM even expects to sell stock soon. Ford stock is up about 700% in that same time period.
The housing industry was in utter collapse when Obama took office. Even the hardest his areas economically are now seeing clear signs of a quickly recovering construction industry.
When Obama took office the banking industry was right on the brink of collapse. Soon they’ll pay off their loans with interest creating a tidy profit for the American taxpayers.
Leading economic indicators have been trending upwards for well over a year now.
With all of this good news demonstrating that the American economy is making a splendid comeback, are the Republicans sick to their stomachs over the wealth of evidence showing that they have no idea how to run a country and that Democrats can fix the economy no matter how badly the Republicans work to destroy it?
Uncle Pennybags, please educate yourself! A large percentage of the stimulus money was in the form of income tax cuts. Not just tax cuts for George Bush’s rich friends but tax cuts for everybody.
“I Got Construction Boots” By Robby Roadsteamer
“I Got Construction Boots” By Robby Roadsteamer. An amazing song with an equally amazing video done by the same director who did November Rain, Fallout Boy, John McCain, the video with the guys on treadmills, and Tori Amos’s “Rock Palace Of Extreme Heights”… Really quality shit here.
Kibera, Kenya… eminent domain… Obama's homelessness prevention… doesn't anybody get the connection?
Nobody knows what the "homelessness prevention" program is. We just know that our city has received billions of dollars from Obama’s trillion dollar stimulus to fund it.
The Kibera project involves moving the poor into public housing and DEMOLISHING THEIR HOMES.
The excuse given is that their homes are "shabby" construction, "shacks," a "public hazard," and so on.
Oh, my house doesn’t conform to the latest trends in interior decorating. Is it "shabby?" And somebody on a bicycle might crash into my mailbox and get hurt. Is my home a "public hazard?"
Does any of this remind you of the "eminent domain" controversy over "shabby" houses, which went to the Supreme Court before common sense prevailed?
Is Obama using homelessness to renew the eminent domain land grab attempt that was made by the ultra wealthy?
Kami, I re-posted it for your benefit, because you answered before I filled in the details.
I respected you because yours was the only answer that didn’t outright bash me.
Now you’ve done it, too.
How do you feel about this statement regarding our 10th Amendment?
This is pulled straight from an msn.com news article. It astounded me. How do YOU feel about it?
"Sen. Claire McCaskill, a Missouri Republican who is also part of the bipartisan group, said Republican resistance continued to center on the cost and the precedent.
Some Republicans are against the notion of having the federal government take on responsibilities that historically were done by the states, she said. "They’re arguing about the precedent we’re setting of the federal government beginning to do things like school construction," she said."
Here is the link since some people asked. From this morning, it has changed. It (MSN) has CORRECTED that she is a DEM. My apologies, but I promise you that I did not change this…if you copy and paste that quote into google, you will see it pop up. I am neither Dem or GOP so my interest is solely in your opinion of the statement, not in whether she is a Dem or GOP. Still it is important and I do assure you that I copied and pasted the original that you see in my question. Thanks so far for your answers.

Go to page two of the link above (they added a second page since this morning).
I’m not mudslinging…I just pasted what I saw. Here is one more link with the exact same quote showing her as Republican so that you will see I was neither lying or mud-slinging…I am just asking a question and copied it straight to here…with type-o’s and all apparently…my apologies.

Harry Reid: Illegal Aliens Don’t Work on Construction Jobs in Nevada
www.StandWithArizona.com Just when you though the open borders crowd could not possibly be more out of touch with American workers, comes this gem. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), even when confronted with multiple sources of hard data, denies both that illegal aliens work on construction jobs in his state, and that E-Verify is effective in weeding out illegals from jobs in the first place. Reid opposed making E-Verify the law of the land for construction firms working on Federal “Stimulus” jobs. http www.facebook.com SWA Store: www.cafepress.com Donate to SWA: www.icontribute.us
Iraq’s Refugees: No Way Out
Tens of thousands of Iraqis have served with the US military and other organizations during the past five and a half years as translators, drivers, construction workers, engineers, and office workers. A disturbing trend has emerged: extremists and militia groups are targeting the estimated 30000 to 100000 US-affiliated Iraqis as traitors for working with Americans. In many cases, the lives of these Iraqis and their families are in imminent danger. Many have become refugees or internally displaced persons within Iraq. These Iraqis urgently need and deserve America’s help, and the Obama administration should act quickly to remove them from harms way. Yet these Iraqis have been stuck until recently in a resettlement process lasting anywhere from six months to two years. Because of bureaucratic red tape, current US policies do not adequately address the security concerns of US-affiliated Iraqis. The Obama administration should initiate an immediate airlift—Operation Safe Haven Iraq 2009;of US-affiliated Iraqis in need of protection as the best course of action for urgently addressing this problem. The United States has a moral obligation to protect US-affiliated Iraqis who risked their lives in service to the United States in Iraq. The Special Immigrant Visa program and the Iraq in-country refugee processing program are meant to expedite processing of US-affiliated Iraqis. Both programs represent a step in the right direction, but an airlift would importantly move …
How is that "hope and change" doing for the 15.1 million unemployed?
Nonfarm payroll employment continued to decline in September (-263,000), and the unemployment rate (9.8 percent) continued to trend up, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. The largest job losses were in construction, manufacturing, retail trade, and government.
Household Survey Data
Since the start of the recession in December 2007, the number of unemployed persons has increased by 7.6 million to 15.1 million, and the unemployment rate has doubled to 9.8 percent. (See table A-1.)

Yes another ‘historic’ accomplishment of the great Obama, he has managed to DOUBLE the unemployment, what a guy.
And, I hate to break this one to you, do you remember who was in charge when the recession started?
Yes you can admit that the Democrats were in charge of the Congress since 2006 thanks for admitting that
