Any good news in Akron, OH?
Anything good going on there, new construction, jobs, people actually moving back into the city, downtown revitilization, gentrification, anything?
these are good answers, but can we actually hear from someone from Summit County, lol. I’m not extending this question, we know you’re out there on the other Ohio forums, lol.
If Sean Hannity is truly fair and balanced, will he have to start calling her "Tax Cheat Sarah Palin"?

If it’s good enough for Geithner, isn’t it good enough for someone who fails to disclose new construction on her property. Will the former governor of Alaska plead ignorance of Alaska state law?
Would you pass up on a great full-time job if your current work at home 50 hrs per month job can lead to more?
I am currently working for a great small marketing agency from my home (the agency is about 2.5 hours drive from my house), but at the moment, the owner just allows me up to 50 hours per month. He has promised me that this job can become full time eventually as he is finding me more projects to work on. Also, he is allowing me to work on sales opportunities for us (not as paid hourly, but once the sales go through–I’ll get straight commission)…This owner has been really great to work for–he is really smart, cares about us contractors, and really knows how to run a company the smart way. I am now used to working from home and it is great to have the flexibility–I’ve also been taking some college courses. Also, I really enjoy the work overall!
On a different note, I have an interview next week with a great software company here in my city. I am really excited about it, but at the same time, I am completely unsure about going in to an office full time. I have a friend that works for this software company–she contacted me about this opportunity out of the blue last week. This is exactly what I was looking for before I started my contract job with the marketing agency, but now I am really enjoying my freedom. I’ve only been with this marketing agency for almost 4 months. At the same time, the full-time job would allow my husband and I to qualify for a new construction loan much sooner for a house that we have been planning to build sometime soon.
…I’d like to know what you all suggest. Just because I will be interviewing for the full-time job at the software company, does not mean that I’ll get it–so I probably shouldn’t be stressing about it just yet, but I like to have a plan so that when it comes to that, then I’ll be ready.
Also, I’m thinking ahead because my husband and I would like to start a family really soon, so the work at home option would be really nice when we’re at that point.
Excel Homework Question?
This is my problem:
A national home seller network wants to analyze the trend in home sales for the past three years. Design & create a worksheet to record the median price for homes in 8 states for 3 years in 2 categories: resale & new construction. Calculate average price by category & by year. Include a formula to calculate percent growth over the 3 years. Enter the sample data (made up).
My question is.. how do I set this up on the spreadsheet (columns and rows) Also how do I calculate the percent growth over the 3 years?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Maple or Cherry Cabinets?
I am am buying a new construction condo and have my choice between light maple or cherry cabinet finish. Which trend looks to last longer?
I have a combination of traditional and contemporary furniture with oriental rugs, so I’m leaning toward cherry, but would like to hear your opinion. Thanks in advance.
Buying a home, should I go with established area or new construction?
I will be purchasing my first home in March. I am in my 30’s and have four children (ages 8-13). I have narrowed my search down, but here is where the hard decisions come in.
One area is an established area, with mostly single family homes ranging from 5-90 years old. This area also has a good school system.
The other area is close by but many of the older homes have been torn down and new construction is going up everywhere. This area has a mix of single family and townhomes. Most homes in this area are less then 5 years old. This areas schools are currently not too good.
I would like to hear from people who know about home value trends.
Would I be better off buying in an area that is already good or buy in the one that isn’t all that good currently but that could improve drastically…or will it?????
Can you sell a home with vivid interior paint colors?
Hi. I have a home that was new construction. It was originally painted white. I absolutely hate white and tan walls. All of the rooms have color, and when I say color I mean eggplant purple, red, hunter green…The home’s floorplan is very boxy, each room is a box and there aren’t many halls, so character definition is paramount. If the home was just white, or tan, it would be one large big box. Plus, I am a ‘vivid’ person so I wanted my home to reflect who I am, not following the latest trend. I’ve read that such colors are a turnoff to buyers. Is that true? I don’t want to repaint it tan when it is time to sell because it would cost thousands (the home is over 4500 sq ft). It has been my understanding, at least for me personally, that what helps sell a home is if the buyer sees something in it that they like. There’s got to be people who can appreciate color.
CRF USA Helps Artspace Transform a Salt Lake City Neighborhood
Artspace, a non-profit in Salt Lake City, creates affordable live and work space for artists, cultural organizations, non-profits and others. CRF worked with the Utah Community Reinvestment Corporation to provide a .6 million loan for the Artspace project. Since Artspace was built, the area has seen dramatic improvements. New lofts built in older warehouse buildings brought full-time residents to the area. The Artspace property was the first development of its kind in Salt Lake City, and the new construction trend continues.
