I’m doing a report for my class and have to research into different businesses. For example, I’d like to know how much a typical construction business makes in a year, etc.
I was a pipefitter in Texas until last week. They replaced me with a mexican immigrant pipefitter. Now what?
I have been a pipefitter in the oil and gas construction business for 22 years in Texas. I was making a good salary at about ,000 year.
Last week, they let some of us go on a job we were doing in western Texas.
This week, they hired several mexican nationals to do the jobs we had been doing. They are working for about 25 to 30% less than we were.
No what am I supposed to do? I was born and raised in this country and still have two kids in high school. All of my wages stayed in our economy. I’m pretty sure a lot of the money I used to earn will now leave the country.
I’m going to tell my story to the news. I’ll find another job, but this is not a good sign for Texas. Immigration is killing us.

how can i get my parents to come home? why do they leave me by myself all the time?
My dad has been working out of town a lot for his job because they got some projects around the state.(hes the co-owner of a house construction business). He would leave during the week and stay in whatever town the job was in, and come home to see me and my step mom on the weekends. and every two weeks or so he would stay home for the week and work on in town projects. now my dad stopped coming home on the weekends and my step mom is just going to the towns my dad is in on the weekends. and now shes just staying with him up there all the time and they never come home. i havent seen my dad in about 3 weeks and i get the vibe that they dont want me to come see them. im 15 years old, female, and i basically live by myself in this big house. they dont answer the phone when i call, and i really miss my dad and step mom. and if they do come home on the weekends, they go camping and wont let me go with. my step mom has been my step mom for about 4 years now, and i really like her. she and my dad are more like my friends than my parents. so why are they doing this to me? do you find it weird?
hes been getting out of town jobs for about 2-3 months now
and i can pretty much take care of myself, i can drive and they gave me a credit card so i can buy food and whatever

TEMPLE, TEX. — In an era when students talk back to teachers, skip class and wear ever-more-risque clothing to school, one central Texas city has hit upon a deceptively simple solution: Bring back the paddle.
Most school districts across the country banned paddling of students long ago. Texas sat that trend out. Nearly a quarter of the estimated 225,000 students who received corporal punishment nationwide in 2006, the latest figures available, were from the Lone Star State.
But even by Texas standards, Temple is unusual. The city, a compact railroad hub of 60,000 people, banned the practice and then revived it at the demand of parents who longed for the orderly schools of yesteryear. Without paddling, "there were no consequences for kids," said Steve Wright, who runs a construction business and is Temple’s school board president.
Since paddling was brought back to the city’s 14 schools by a unanimous board vote in May, behavior at Temple’s single high school has changed dramatically, Wright said, even though only one student in the school system has been paddled.

What is the best way to advertise a web design agency?
I have been in business for more than 10 years now and I need to grow my customer portfolio. I was thinking to do some magazine advertisement in specific nitches like aviation, medicine and construction. Business opportunity magazines might be another good shot. Does anybody have a similar experience, and where do you think I should advertise? How about online…yes but where? Any statistics or case study? Thanx a lot!
